Zeyu Deng

Zeyu Deng was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China in 1993. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Microelectronic Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, he worked in the research group of Prof. Zhiping Yu at Tsinghua on characterization of the transport properties of novel devices implemented using two-dimensional materials and topological insulators. During Summer of 2015, he worked on conductivity modeling of MoS2 at UCLA with Prof. Xiangfeng Duan. During Summer of 2016, he worked on spin transport in topological insulators with Prof. Kang Wang at UCLA. In Fall 2017, he joined Prof. Banerjee’s research group at University of California, Santa Barbara, to pursue his PhD degree. His current research is focused on understanding fundamental issues in novel materials and devices for developing next-generation energy-efficient electronics.
