Kunjesh Agashiwala


Kunjesh Agashiwala was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He received a dual degree, M.Sc. Hons. in Physics and B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India, in July 2017. As part of his undergraduate thesis, he conducted research on transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) based devices at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, India. During the summer of 2016, he worked on perovskite oxide thin films at University of Southern California (USC) through a VITERBI-India Fellowship. He was also the recipient of the Outstanding Academic Excellence Award from the Department of Physics, BITS Pilani, in April 2016. In Fall 2017, he joined Prof. Banerjee’s Nanoelectronics Research Lab in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at University of California, Santa Barbara, to pursue his PhD degree. His current research is focused on the exploration of novel 2-dimensional materials for next-generation energy-efficient nano-devices.
