Ankit was born in Mumbai, India, and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. He received a dual degree, B.E. (Hons.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and M.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India, in August 2018. Ankit’s undergraduate thesis focused on Berezinskii–Kosterlitz–Thouless (BKT) transition in aluminium nanofilms at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. In 2017, he interned at Intel, Bengaluru, India, for a semester working on power optimization of the DFx logic of Intel’s latest integrated graphics processor. During 2018-2019, he worked on 2D material based QR-code synthesis in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, as a project assistant. In Fall 2019, he joined Prof. Banerjee’s Nanoelectronics group at the University of California, Santa Barbara, to pursue his Ph.D. degree in the area of 2D electronics.
