Man L. Mui was born in Hong Kong, China. He earned the B.S. degree in May 2002 and the M.S. degree in May 2004, both in electrical engineering, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with an emphasis on integrated circuit design. In 2002 he joined the Illinois Center for the Integrated Micro-Systems group at the Coordinated Science Laboratory as a Research Assistant, under the supervision of Professor Amit Mehrotra at UIUC and Professor Kaustav Banerjee at UCSB. His research was focused on interconnect performance and modeling for VLSI circuit designs. While earning his Masters degree, he co-authored three technical papers for archival journals and conferences, and one of the papers was nominated for the best paper award in the 2004 IEEE International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design Conference (ISQED '04). He currently works for SanDisk Corporation, Milpitas, CA, as a circuit designer involved in memory core operations and related circuit design and verification. He is a holder of several U.S. design patents.
